ABOUT THE JURORS:

Newburyport Art's Winter Juried Show will be juried by a special committee, comprised of artists Judy Miller Bailey, Rosalie Cuticchia, Susan Spellman, Tom Bailey, and Verne Orlosk. All have been long-time, active supporters of Newburyport Art, and they represent the NAA community well through a diversity of media and disciplines. Together, they bring immense depth and breadth from their artistic practices, with strong expertise and experience across art forms and subject matter.

Judy Miller Bailey is an inaugural Master Artist at Newburyport Art, a Russell Artist at Plymouth Guild, a Master Artist at Cape Cod Art, as well as a juried member at NH Art, Rockport Art, Marblehead Art, and the National Association of Women Artists. She has exhibited in New York City (her hometown) and New England (her adopted home).

Rosalie Cuticchia is an abstract painter who exhibits and teaches painting in the abstract style. She has worked as a Gallerist and Curator, and credits Newburyport Art for offering her exhibition opportunities at the very beginning of her artist journey.

Susan Spellman, fine artist and illustrator, has illustrated more than 40 books over her career. While continuing to work in illustration, she also exhibits her paintings in numerous regional galleries and art organizations. She is a member of The Newburyport Ten Plein Air Painters.

Tom Bailey is a Master Artist and previous board member of Newburyport Art. He is a juried Signature member of major art organizations, including Pastel Society of America, International Association of Pastel Societies (Master Circle), and others. Tom was a faculty member for "Pastel Live 2022" and has been featured in major publications and online organizatinos, including The Pastel JournalHow to Pastel, and the book, Pure Pastel: Contemporary Works by Today's Top Artists.

Verne Orlosk is a glass artist with a background in teaching visual arts. She creates depth, in layers of fused glass, that showcase what might be hidden in the natural world.
